USTR Michael Froman, House Ways and Means Chairman Dave Camp, members of Congress, and Japanese Ambassador Sasae address Team TiSA Launch Event
The Team TiSA business coalition officially launched earlier this week on Capitol Hill, drawing a large audience to the Cannon Office Building. Peter Allgeier, president of the Coalition for Services Industries, introduced the coalition and served as master of ceremonies while prominent speakers addressed the importance of trade in services and offered support to Team TiSA.
In addition to Ambassador Froman and Congressman Camp, the audience also heard from Rep. Sandy Levin, Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee; Congressmen Dave Reichert and Gregory Meeks, two prominent members of the Congressional Services Caucus; Sen. Ron Wyden, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee; and Ambassador Kenichiro Sasae of Japan.
Representatives from the Team TiSA coalition and the six co-chairing companies also attended to lend their support to the event. (Read the joint statement issued by the co-chairs here.)

Pointing out the need for concerted effort to help support the negotiations, U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman stated: "We need to move forward together with a Trade in Services Agreement that unlocks opportunity for Americans, and with Team TiSA behind us, I’m confident that we are on the right track."

House Ways and Means Committe Chairman Rep. Dave Camp attended the event as well, offering his support for the ongoing TiSA negotiations. He stated, "The world-leading U.S. services sector facilitates our agricultural and manufacturing competitiveness and is key to our economic growth. I look forward to working with all of you for a successful, high-standard TiSA." Rep. Camp's full remarks are available here.

The launch event was also supported by remarks from two prominent members of the Congressional Services Caucus, Rep. David Reichert and Rep. Gregory Meeks, who touted the successes of trade in services for Americans and the potential for more opportunities ahead.
